Without a doubt: YOU ARE LOVED! In the words of the beloved New Thought teacher, Emmet Fox:
"THERE IS NO DIFFICULTY THAT ENOUGH LOVE WILL NOT CONQUER;
NO DISEASE THAT LOVE WILL NOT HEAL; NO DOOR THAT ENOUGH LOVE WILL NOT OPEN ...
IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE HOW DEEP SET THE TROUBLE; HOW HOPELESS
THE OUTLOOK: HOW MUDDLED THE TANGLE: HOW GREAT THE MISTAKE.
A SUFFICIENT REALIZATION OF LOVE WILL DISSOLVE IT ALL.
IF ONLY YOU COULD LOVE ENOUGH YOU WOULD BE THE HAPPIEST
AND MOST POWERFUL BEING IN THE WORLD."
Unity Church of the Valley has dedicated the month of February as the time that "LOVE WINS!" Each week, we will explore the various aspects of Divine Love: How to become a magnet to attract Love and How to Radiate Love to Others. Our Lesson this Sunday is "Love One Another." The Lesson is based on the words of our Elder Brother, Jesus (Scripture Reference: John 15:12-13) "This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you."
In our human ego-minds we often misunderstand and misinterpret love in so many ways. We attach "conditions" or "expectations" to our love. I call this the Relationship Rules List (RRL). Number 1 on the RRL is: "I will love you if you do this," Number 2 on the RRL is "I do love you, therefore you must do what I ask you to do..." Yes, we all can add our own conditions to love on our personal RRL. Conditions to our Love and to our Gifts are simply "Strings Attached." In our Scripture Reference, Jesus was clearly emphasizing that He is calling all of us to a higher standard of Love ... It is to be an unconditional love that is simply allowing the Presence/Power of God to flow freely through us and join us together in one creative energy of Infinite Oneness and Infinite Possibility.
No one likes "Conditions, Expectations or the RRL." In fact, the strings soon feel like chains and the relationship begins to break down unless the couple or the business partners or the community makes a sincere effort to communicate, respect each other's points of view and develop a compromised RRL. Willingly working together to build each other up, recognizing that we are all Spiritual Beings is what Jesus was speaking about when He said: "This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you."
Ms. Cindy P. White is our Guest Music Director this Sunday! We always enjoy Cindy's beautiful voice, her music selections and her gentle, loving spirit! Our wonderful sound board technician is Marshall Hall. We will host a Unity Valentine's Day Party after the service. Rick & Patti Halliday, Janet Bailey and other volunteers will provide our coffee and refreshments. ALSO: OUR PARTY MUSICAL ENTERTAINMENT IS PROVIDED BY: Hugh James, a well known (and well loved) musical talent in the greater Los Angeles area. Visit his web site: www.hughjamesmusic.com
NOTE: Next Sunday, 2 21 2021, we will host a special guest speaker: Ms. Susan Zollinger. She is studying to complete her Religious Science Practitioner accreditation, is a Master Reiki Practitioner (I am one of her devoted clients and can highly recommend a Reiki treatment from Susan). She also sings beautifully and is also our Unity Quick Books Accountant. In her 'spare time,' she does pet sitting! Accompanying Susan's Lesson on "The Prospering Power of Love," will be Susan Edwards Martin, a Guest Music Director from our Unity Church of the Valley Music Team. I am taking a Sunday off ... the first in over two (2) years; but, you will have a wonderful Sunday with Susan Zollinger and Susan Edwards Martin!
Sending All My Love to You,
Rev. Jeri Linn
